A FOOTBRIDGE is a Taunton park has been closed for repairs.
The council sent staff along to inspect the wooden bridge bewteen Goodland Gardens and Taunton Castle after being informed by the4 County Gazette that one of the rails had been pushed outwards
A spokesman for Somerset West and Taunton Council said: “The council has inspected the bridge in Goodland Gardens.
"It has now been closed and diversion signs are in place while repairs are undertaken.
"Council-owned bridges are inspected on a six-monthly basis and immediately when faults are reported.
"We would encourage members of the public to contact the council directly to report faults to ensure that we can respond quickly and protect the safety of the public.”
