TWO fences and a hedge were destroyed following a fire in Woolavington.
Fire crews from Burnham-on-Sea and Bridgwater were called to Sedgemoor Way at 3.55pm on Monday (July 29) to a report of fences and bushes on fire.
When the crews arrived they requested for an ambulance attend to help an elderly man suffering from smoke inhalation and firefighters gave him oxygen.
The fire involving bonfire had spread to 40m x 15m of fence and hedge.
Two fences and one hedge 100 per cent damaged by the fire but there was no fire damage to a building nearby.
Firefighters checked the roof as a precautionary measure for smoke ingress.
Firefighters extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet, one thermal imaging camera and beaters.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
