CHILDREN got to put themselves in the driving seat and act as patients at an open day at Taunton Ambulance Station yesterday (Sunday).
Hundreds of people attended the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust event at the ambulance base in Lisieux Way.
Paramedics showcased their vehicles, equipment and skills during the day.
On display were rapid response cars, ambulance vehicles and motorcycle response units, as well as the hazardous area response team.
Volunteer community first responders were on hand to chat about their role.
There were sessions on how to perform lifesaving CPR and how to apply bandages.
There will also be a bouncy castle, face painting, colouring and refreshments.
