Division 3
Bishops Lydeard Reserves 7, Burnham United Reserves 1

BURNHAM’S Reserves came unstuck away to newly-promoted Bishops Lydeard Reserves on Saturday, going down 7-1 in their first game of the season in Division 3.

The hosts only led 1-0 at half-time, playing up the slope in the opening 45 minutes, with Harry Millar scoring.

But the Bishops ran riot after the break, scoring six more goals.

Amauri Ruiz netted a quickfire brace, and then set up Millar to make it 4-0.

Reegan Scotcher and Oliver Andrews piled on the punishment, before Ruiz sealed his hat-trick at 7-0.

The visitors’ consolation goal came courtesy of a last-minute penalty from substitute Jeff Smith.

Burnham Reserves will look to bounce back at home to Chew Magna this Saturday (3pm).
