SCOUTS from across Somerset have been on an exciting international trip to Kenya.
The 37 explorer and network scouts spent 10 days working alongside Younique Travel Adventures in three schools in Nakuru, Kenya.
The schools stay open through their holidays to ensure the children have somewhere safe to be and are fed.
They also enjoyed a safari, visiting Thomson’s Falls and the Menengai Crater.
One of the scouts, Bradley Croucher said: “I’ve loved every second and I think it’s fair to say I’m not the only one that thinks that. Thank you also to anyone who has organised or helped fundraising.”
The Scouts took over 30 cases of donations for the schools full of clothing, footwear, educational and sports materials.
The Scouts took part in teaching, maintenance, painting, landscaping and running sports activities.
Peter Sampson, the trip leader, said: “This trip will not only have a lasting impact on the Schools and their young people, but on the group from Somerset.”
