COUNCILS and community groups across Sedgemoor are being offered free bulbs to plant themselves in a bid to make the district 'even more beautiful'.
Sedgemoor District Council (SDC) is offering 25kg bags of 'Woodland Mix' daffodil bulbs to town and parish councils and community groups in the hope they can provide a lovely display in the spring.
A council spokesman said: "There is a limited supply of ‘Woodland Mix’ daffodil bulbs up for grabs. The bags are 25 kilos in weight, which should provide a ‘blooming lovely’ display in the spring.
"Community groups or parish councils can register an interest, via e-mail to clean.surroundings@sedgemoor.gov.uk. The closing date is Friday, September 27.
"Bulbs will be allocated according to interest, one bag per organisation, and made available to collect from our depot in Colley Lane, Bridgwater from week commencing October 14.
