A FIFTY-TWO-YEAR-OLD woman accused of an offence of criminal damage in Chard has had the case against her adjourned to see if the police will consider giving her a caution instead.
Julie Ann Rose, of Charlotte Court, Yeovil, was due to appear before Somerset Magistrates charged with causing damage to a window valued at £85 belonging to Yarlington Housing Association.
The defendant did not appear in the dock and an application was made by the defence for the case to be put back before the police to see whether a conditional caution would be more suitable rather than pressing ahead with a prosecution.
The proceedings were adjourned until November 12 to see if they are prepared to do that.
