AN inquest has been opened into the death of a motorcyclist from Bridgwater.

Senior coroner for Somerset Tony Williams opened the inquest of 26-year-old Thomas Bolton, of Bridgwater, who died in a on Sunday, November 17 following a collision between a motorcycle and a car on the A38 at Thurloxton.

The initial cause of death has been given as multiple injuries, and the inquest has been adjourned pending further police investigation.

At what is a preliminary hearing, Mr Williams said the initial report given to him suggested Mr Bolton was riding a motorcycle when he struck the side of car, and said at this stage it is believed the person in the car was doing a U-turn of the carriageway.
