AN Ilminster business has pulled together firms from across the town to hold a Christmas raffle in support of children with diabetes.

MawFIT Gym, in Canal Way, is working to raise money for The Josh Evans Trust, a charity helping young people with type 1 diabetes.

The fundraiser is being run by MawFIT Gym staff member Julie-Anne Green.

She said: “I have chosen this charity because it holds a special place in my heart.

“My son Alfie Green was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was four years old and was very poorly.”

The Greens had no idea their son had type 1 diabetes, and he was rushed to hospital.

Julie added: “Alfie’s body was trying to shut down. He was then placed in a high dependency unit for a week.

“The support we had from Musgrove Park Hospital Taunton was fantastic.”

Around 20 business have donated prizes to the raffle. To support the cause and have chance to win, just buy a ticket from MawFIT Gym.

Julie said: “We would love everyone to purchase a ticket and help support this amazing charity for children.”

The prize draw is set to take place on December 16 at MawFIT Gym.
