A WOMAN was left with broken bones after being tackled to the ground in Chard town centre and kicked in the head.
The 30-year-old victim was assaulted by an unknown woman and suffered a broken rib, broken fingers and needed stitches to a cut close to one of her eyes.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident.
It happened on Fore Street near the junction with Combe Street at approximately 3.10am on Saturday, November 30.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "If you witnessed the incident please call 101 and provide the call handler with the reference 5219276752.
"You can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100 per cent anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their Anonymous Online Form.
"No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and you will not go to court or have to speak to police when contacting Crimestoppers."
