A SOMERSET festival has announced an early-bird ticket release ahead of the 2020 event.

Farmfest is set to take place at Gilcombe Farm, Bruton, across the weekend of July 24 and 25.

And a limited number of early-bird tickets, priced at £70 per adult for the weekend, go on sale on January 31.

Now in its 14th year, organisers say the 5,000-capacity festival is 'one of the most unique and inclusive small-scale festivals in the UK'.

"With its pocket-sized footprint, you’re never too far from the action or from your tent," a spokesperson said.

"The festival’s capacity is consciously capped at 5000 to keep the atmosphere exciting yet intimate."

Previous acts to appear at Farmfest include Roots Manuva, Young Fathers and Hot 8 Brass Band, as well as the likes of DJ Yoda, Gilles Peterson, Craig Charles and Nightmares on Wax on the electronic side.

"All ages are welcome at Farmfest, which prides itself on its hugely varied programme," the spokesperson added.

"Throughout the weekend you’ll find everything from comedy to early morning yoga and the famous Kids’ Kingdom, which is packed with creative activities and workshops all weekend, making it unmissable for families."

The first wave of acts is set to be announced 'very soon', the spokesperson added.
