At Dillington, in Ilminster, strong winds brought down a live electrical pole with cables sparking in the road.
The winds are predicted to die down by late afternoon.
But we're not out of the woods yet as forecasters say we're likely to see a period of unsettled weather.
*BAD WEATHER UPDATE* As things stand we intend to run a normal service tomorrow morning. Should the situation change we will communicate via our social media channels at the earliest opportunity. Some of our early services may be subject to speed restrictions and diversions.
