TAUNTON Town boss Rob Dray is set to name the same squad from Saturday's big win, as the Peacocks head to Merthyr Town for tonight's midweek clash (7.45pm).

Taunton came from behind to beat promotion rivals Swindon Supermarine 2-1 on Saturday, taking them up to fourth spot in the Southern League Premier South standings.

But with Supermarine, Hayes & Yeading United, Poole Town and Salisbury - this coming Saturday's opponents - all within striking distance, the Peacocks will be desperate to avoid a slip-up tonight.

Opponents Merthyr are down in 15th place, with three defeats in their last four games - including their last two at home, against Hayes & Yeading and Metropolitan Police.

But Taunton lost this fixture 3-1 last season, and they can expect another stern examination in South Wales tonight.

Head of football Dray said: “Merthyr is always a difficult place to go, as the 3G surface there isn’t great and is a real leveller.

“They have real team spirit and a siege mentality, and an outstanding manager in Gavin Williams.”

Taunton announced this morning that leading scorer Andrew Neal is to visit a specialist today, in order to advise on treatment for the striker's knee injury - which will keep him sidelined for the immediate future.

This has been made possible thanks to supporters and sponsors donating more than £1,000 to fund private surgery.

In Neal's absence, new signing Dan Demkiv will be pushing to get more minutes tonight - having been a stoppage-time substitute on Saturday.

Expected Taunton Town squad: Ben Adelsbury, Ryan Brett, Ollie Chamberlain, Dan Demkiv, Nick Grimes, Lewis Hall, Lloyd Irish (GK), Harry Kite, Jamie Price, Jamie Short, Luke Spokes, Ross Staley, Dan Sullivan, Shane White, Matt Wright.
