SOMERSET is set for another day of wind and rain with the Met Office warning hail and thunder could be on the way.

Most of the county's poor weather is due this morning (February 17) with the sun coming out around noon, and sunshine and cloud set for the afternoon.

Met Office said: "Remaining windy on Monday, with blustery showers, interspersed with sunny spells.

"There could be some locally very heavy downpours, with the potential for hail and thunder. Feeling raw during any intense showers."

The temperature is set to peak at 10C, before falling to a minimum of 3C overnight.

There will also be a 'touch of frost in rural spots'.

For Tuesday's forecast, Met Office said: "Showers could merge to more prolonged rain during the morning, before clearing to sunshine and showers.

"A spell of more organised rainfall could return during the evening. Less windy overnight."

The maximum temperature is due to be 9C.

For the rest of the week, the weather is set to be much calmer on Wednesday morning before turning wet and windy again until the weekend.
