MEMBERS of the public have been thanked for not travelling without good reason.
Police officers have been out across North Wales today on foot and patrolling the road networks ensuring essential travel is being undertaken only.
A spokesman for North Wales Police said: "We'd like to say a huge thank you for complying and for staying at home.
"You really are playing your part in helping to save lives."
The message of thanks was echoed by Traffic Wales, with a spokesman confirming the team had seen an average reduction of 63 per cent in traffic volumes across its monitoring sites on the A55.
