A NEW internet tool claims to be able to find sought-after home delivery slots from major supermarkets - in one click.

Delivery Slot Finder is a free app for the Chrome web browser that checks for supermarket delivery slots on your behalf, checking all the major UK supermarkets including Tesco, Sainsburys, ASDA, Morrisons, Iceland, Waitrose and the Co-op.

The release of the tool comes at a time when home delivery slots are still frustratingly difficult to find in the UK, as thousands of people seek deliveries while isolating as part of the county-wide lockdown.

"By the time you’ve finished clicking through each of the sites and decided on which slot would work best for you, it’s probably already been taken by someone else," said a spokesperson for the app.

"Delivery Slot Finder checks the supermarkets at the same time and shows you one aggregated view in under 30 seconds."

So what is it?

The app was built by software developer Rick Blyth initially to help family and friends find delivery slots during the COVID-19 pandemic, and is now freely available for the public to use.

It checks delivery slots from the major supermarkets and lists them all in one place.

How do I get it?

To install Delivery Slot Finder, you need to have the Google Chrome browser (the application you use to view web pages).

If you Google 'delivery slot finder extension', a link is presented which installs the extension in Chrome. From there, you enter your registration details with the supermarkets and go from there...

You can also visit www.deliveryslotfinder.co.uk for more details.

What does it cost?

The tool will always be free but there will soon be a premium version that will give notifications when it finds delivery slots for your favourite supermarkets.

Does it do anything else?

Finally, the tool will shortly support checking for “Click and Collect” slots for those supermarkets that support it. Click and Collect is becoming more popular due to the way it helps minimise time spent in close proximity to other shoppers.
