THE RSPCA is investigating after a cat was found dead with injuries.

The black and white cat was discovered in North Street, Bridgwater, at around 5pm on June 10.

Its body was taken to Quantock Vets, in the town, where a vet discovered a number of injuries to the animal's ribs, neck and tail.

The vet contacted the animal welfare charity.

RSPCA Inspector Jo Daniel, who is investigating for the charity, said: "We're concerned about what may have happened and encourage anyone with information to contact us on 0300 1234 8018."

The RSPCA's frontline animal rescuers such as Jo have continued to help animals suffering injury, cruelty and neglect throughout the coronavirus crisis.
