ANOTHER person has tested positive for Covid-19 in Somerset.

The latest new confirmed case was in the Somerset West and Taunton district in the 24 hours to 5pm yesterday (Tuesday), according to Public Health England.

There were no coronavirus related deaths in the county council area over the same period, NHS England figures show.

The latest positive test follows three days in which there were no new cases.

It takes to 1,288 the total number of positive lab, hospital and community tests in Somerset.

The total number of confirmed cases in each district is: 123 in Mendip; 393 in Sedgemoor; 440 in Somerset West and Taunton; and 332 in South Somerset.
