A 'DELIBERATE' car fire spreading to a second vehicle in a Somerset car park was tackled by firefighters yesterday (July 27).

Crews from Yeovil were sent to the scene, in Boundary Road, Yeovil, at around 5pm.

A spokesperson for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews arrived on scene and got to work with two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet.

"The fire was extinguished, but the first car was completely destroyed. The second suffered moderate damage.

"The cause of the fire was deemed deliberate ignition."
