FIREFIGHTERS tackled a fire at a coffee making warehouse this morning (September 22).

A roasting vat caught fire at the warehouse in Porlock high street at 10.42am.

A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue service said: “On arrival at the scene fire crews confirmed a fire in a roasting vat.

“The machinery was isolated whilst crews gained access to the chimney stack where the fire was located.

“They extinguished the fire using chimney gear and a thermal image camera.

“Crews dismantled the stack with the permission of the owner and lowered it to the ground floor.”
