MOTORISTS are being warned that their travel may be disrupted this weekend as an 'abnormal load' is travelling through Somerset.
On Saturday (October 10) and Sunday (October 11) a 225-tonne transporter is being transported along the A38 and M5.
Police will escort the load today from Dunball. It will travel south on the M5 between junctions 23 and 26 before heading along the A38 to West Buckland, near Wellington.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said drivers are being warned that traffic may need to be held at points for safety reasons.
Highways England said the transporter will take up all three lanes of the motorway and urged motorists to 'drive with caution.'

On Sunday, the vehicle will head back along the A38 to Bishops Hull and again traffic may be held.
Motorists are being advised to consider an alternative route between 8.30am and 10am each day as delays are expected.
