A WOULD-be burglar fled after being spotted trying to break into a house through an upstairs window.
The unknown offender had climbed onto a lower level roof and tried to get into through a partially open bathroom window.
They were interrupted by the occupant and made off empty-handed.
Police are appealing for information following the attempted burglary in Monks Dale, Yeovil, on Tuesday, October 6, at about 7.45pm.
The culprit is described as wearing a black top with long sleeves. Another person seen wearing a white hooded top was also spotted leaving the area shortly after the incident.
The victim has been given crime prevention advice by officers, who are encouraging residents in the area to be vigilant.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious at the time of the attempted break in or has information that could assist the police investigation is asked to call 101, quoting reference 5220226846.
