FIREFIGHTERS tackled a car fire thought to have been started deliberately in Chard last night (October 16).
The car in Chaffcombe was on its roof and on fire at 9.50pm.
A spokesperson from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call from a member of the public reporting a car on fire.
"One fire appliance from Chard was immediately mobilised by Fire Control.
"On arrival, the incident commander confirmed that one car on its roof was involved in fire and got crews to work to extinguish the fire using breathing apparatus, hose reel jets and a thermal imaging camera.
"Police were requested to attend as the fire was thought to have been started deliberately."
