MUSIC icon Lionel Richie will be saying 'Hello' to Bristol next year, as the singer-songwriter announces a major outdoor standing concert in the city on June 21, 2021.

The Grammy Award-winning performer, whose hits include All Night Long, Dancing on the Ceiling and Hello, will be in the South West in June for a spectacular one-off open air concert, which forms part of a nationwide summer tour of the UK.

Richie, who hails from Tuskegee, Alabama, has sold well over 100 million albums worldwide, having first found fame with The Commodores before turning solo.

He last wowed crowds in the South West at Glastonbury 2015, performing on the Pyramid Stage and making it look Easy (like Sunday morning or, in this case, Sunday afternoon).

Full location details for next year's concert are to be announced in January, with promoters Senbla and AEG saying: "Due to the current Tier 3 restrictions in Bristol, it wouldn’t be appropriate to announce the location until early in New Year, but we know everyone will be excited as we are!”

Tickets go on sale tomorrow (December 9, pre-sale), with general sale opening on Friday (December 11); tickets will be available from ticketmaster.co.uk and axs.com.
