THERE were 38 new confirmed Covid-19 cases in Somerset in the latest 24-hour period.
Of those, 14 were in South Somerset, which has registered a total of 5,383 cases since the start of the pandemic.
There were seven new confirmed cases in Somerset West and Taunton, which has seen a total of 5,920 positive tests since the start of the pandemic.
Sedgemoor had 13 positive tests, for an overall total of 5,300.
And Mendip saw four new confirmed cases, for an overall total of 3,417.
The rates of infections based on the latest seven-day rolling figures are 68.3 people per 100,000 of population in South Somerset (down from 69.5 the previous day); 20.6 in SWT (down from 20); 53.6 in Sedgemoor (down from 59.3); and 26.8 in Mendip (up from 22.5).
