A NUMBER of major roadworks schemes are starting in Somerset this week.

Among them is the installation of a pedestrian crossing in Northfield, Somerton, that is estimated to take 82 working days to complete.

A project of various works at North Petherton is scheduled to take even longer, with an estimate of 208 working days.

TUESDAY (January 4).

Northfield, Somerton: pedestrian crossing, 82 working days.

Doulton Hill to Farrington Lane, Doulting: footway, 14 working days.

Trenchard Way, Taunton: new access, eight working days.

Southfield Hill, Hemington: patching, five working days.

Stone Lane access, Ston Easton: tree removal, three working days.

WEDNESDAY (January 5).

Taunton Road, North Petherton: various works, 208 working days.

FRIDAY (January 7).

Nash Lane, Yeovil: tree removal, one day.
