FIRE crews rescued a horse stuck in a water-filled ditch yesterday evening (January 24).
A member of the public called to report the incident, which happened in Street around 7.45pm.
Fire engines from Taunton and Street attended the rescue, alongside a special rescue appliance from Bridgwater and an environmental protection unit from Taunton.
An animal rescue tactical advisor was also sent.
"On arrival crews assessed the situation and got to work with lines and strops and a lot of person power to safely free the horse into the hands of a vet," said a spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.
