WITH work halted on the multi-million pound Coal Orchard development off Taunton town centre, we thought you'd like to see what progress has been made on the site to date.
Workers downed tools and walked off the site last week due to a dispute with the main contractor Midas Construction, claiming they had not been paid recently.
It means yet another delay for the project, which will feature shops, restaurants, workspaces and apartments once completed.
Midas has blamed Covid restrictions and issues with building supplies and labour shortages for failing to hit previous deadlines.
The company had aimed to handover the development to owners Somerset West and Taunton Council by March this year, but that now looks increasingly unlikely.
The council says it has kept up with all its payments to Midas and expects the firm to pay all its subcontractors and suppliers.
SWT says it is committed to delivering the "flagship redevelopment scheme despite the challenging labour and materials market".
Midas has been asked for a comment.
