GUESTS enjoyed a networking breakfast at Taunton Racecourse on Tuesday (January 25).
The breakfast with Somerset County Council (SCC) was organised by the Somerset Chamber of Commerce.
More than 50 local business men and women enjoyed a full English breakfast and the opportunity to network before listening to key speakers from event sponsor Barclays and a representative from SCC.
Attendees were welcomed by the Chamber’s new executive director, Emma Rawlings, before Nick Porter, of Barclays, outlined the bank’s Thriving Local Economies imitative, which is currently focusing on Taunton Deane.
Cllr David Hall, SCC’s cabinet member for economic development, planning and community infrastructure, gave an update on unitary authority changes and timescales, as well as details about some of the critical infrastructure upgrades happening around the county.
