A TEENAGER has been banned from getting behind the wheel after they tried to escape from pursuing police by driving at 80mph in a 30mph zone on a Somerset road.
The incident happened in January this year near Cheddar.
When the youngster, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared in court, they were given a 12-month disqualification.
Magistrates also slapped a youth referral order on the culprit and ordered them to pass an extended driving test before being allowed to drive again.
