TWO classic sports cars, a Volvo and a Triumph both from 1968, are set to go head to head against each other at the Charterhouse classic car auction on July 6 at Haynes.

“Whilst I admit to being around in 1968, I was just a toddler but today have a great love for cars and bikes from the late 1960s.” said Richard Bromell, of Charterhouse Auctioneers.

Both 1968 cars come to Charterhouse with long term ownership.

The Volvo P1800S has been in the same family from new.

Having had some £15,000 spent on restoration, this sporty Volvo is estimated at between £20,000 and £25,000.

The Triumph TR5 PI comes to auction from its second owner.

He bought it in 1971 and the car has only covered just over 56,000 miles from new and is estimated at £36,000 to £38,000.

Charterhouse are now taking further entries for this classic car auction on July 6 and their classic motorcycle auction on June 29.

Both auctions are being held at the prestigious Haynes International Motor Museum, at Sparkford.
