A MAN has been arrested in Glastonbury after fake banknotes and class A drugs were “located” on him by police officers after a public tip-off.

The man was reported to the police by members of the public for “passing around” £20 notes that were believed to be fake.

He was then searched by the officers, who found the fake notes and drugs.

A Mendip Neighbourhood Policing spokesperson said: “On Sunday, September 25, a male was stopped (and) searched in Glastonbury High street by the Glastonbury Neighbourhood Team.

“This was following reports from the public that he was passing around fake £20 notes.

“When the male was searched some fake notes were located on him along with class A drugs.”

Last week, the Glastonbury neighbourhood policing team arrested a wanted male when he was seen in the area.

The man was wanted by another police force and is now at Exeter Prison.
