Police have warned they will continue to crackdown on irresponsible parking in Daubhill.

In recent weeks officers have been patrolling the area due to motorists parking on double yellow lines and bus lanes.

They were out again yesterday evening and issued a strong warning to motorist who continue to break the rules.

A spokesman for GMP Bolton South said: "Local Neighbourhood Officers and PC Rosbach have continued to patrol the area of Deane Road and St Helens Road due to ongoing parking issues in the bus lanes and on double yellows. This is a massive hazard for the public in those areas and will continue to be tackled."

Drivers can be hit with fines if caught parking in restricted areas.

Bolton Council is tackling unauthorised use of bus lanes by motorists by using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras at more than a dozen locations across the borough.

The authority said anyone who is caught for an infringement within their time of operation receiving a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).

There are currently 14 bus lanes across the borough and enforcement has previously been carried out by traffic wardens and the police.
