THOUSANDS of Yeovil Town fans will be waking up this morning to the news that the club has appointed long-serving team captain Terry Skiverton as the club's player-manager.
Skiverton, 33, has been at the Glovers for ten years and is currently in his testimonial season.
The sensational news was announced late last night and took many supporters by surprise - more at the timing of the announcement rather than the news itself, given that Skiverton's name had been strongly linked to the vacancy following Monday's departure of Russell Slade.
Skiverton also find himself with a familiar figure as his right-hand man.
Fellow defender Nathan Jones, 35, has been appointed as assistant manager which means a farewell to Steve Thompson who has been released from Huish Park to end his 11-year stint with the club which he has served as player, coach, caretaker manager and manager.
More news on this dramatic turn of events at Huish Park throughout the day.
