A CLARION call has gone out to Minehead residents to raise a cup of coffee for cancer sufferers and their families.

Rosemary Lawson, who lost her husband to cancer, will be joining in the Macmillan World's Biggest Coffee Morning on September 24.

Now she has urged others to hold coffee mornings as part of the event.

Rosemary said: "I am supporting Macmillan because having lost my husband and several friends to cancer, I am full of admiration and gratitude for all they do for people suffering from the disease and for those who care for them.

"I'm asking everyone in Minehead to make their cup of coffee count by holding their own World's Biggest Coffee Morning events to raise vital funds for people living with cancer."

The Minehead coffee morning is at Shute Farm, St Michael's Road, from 10.30-noon. To hold your own coffee morning, call 0845-6021246.
