NOTTINGHAMSHIRE won the final match of the 2004 Totesport League season to secure the final promotion spot.
And their win over Somerset means Yorkshire will have to spend another season in Division Two.
Somerset were unable to overhaul the visitors' 259-7 at Taunton despite a brilliant 115 not out from Keith Parsons, and were bowled out for 225.
For Nottinghamshire, Paul Franks hit 64 off just 37 balls, and Jason Gallian compiled a slightly less rapid 68.
