SEVEN competitors from all over the county put their strength to the test at Helston Football Club on Sunday in a bid to find Cornwall's strongest man.
Among the many energy-sapping events included a farmer's walk, 60 metres covered in the fastest time carrying 165lb in each hand, and a dead lift of a car in as many times as possible in two minutes.
After seven muscle-wrenching events the man to emerge with the title of Cornwall's strongest man was John Myers of Camborne.
"Jabba" as John is nicknamed, saw off the challenge of Redruth's Sam Bowen who finished second and Andrew Stevens of Falmouth who finished third.
John (Jabba) Myers trains at the Fit Stop gym.
The day was a great success and the organiser would like to express their thanks to all competitors, spectators and Helston AFC.
