THE West Cornwall Motor Club kick-star5ted their new motor cycle trial season on Sunday with their Greybeards Trial held in glorious weather at Splatton Ridden Farm, Lelant Downs.
An entry of 30 riders enjoyed four laps of an easy course with separate sections for youths.
Ross Fraser (Perranwell) just pipped Graham Stephens (Redruth) for the cup by one mark with Adrian Bray having to settle for third place despite cleaning the whole trial but losing out on handicap based on riders' age.
Michael Curnow enjoyed his first-ever ride with a win in the novice category.
The youths were show a clean pair of heels - or should it be high heels - by Lisa-Marie Orchard of Redruth who cleaned everything the organisers laid out in this picturesque course.
The more serious business starts later this month with the beginning of the championship season.
