RNAS CULDROSE 1 v TRURO CITY 0

ONE goal was enough to prevent Truro City from staying right up there with the pace at the top of the Jolly's Combination League when they were beaten 1-0 by RNAS Culdrose.

With goalkeeper James Moody stranded in traffic on the Goss Moor, City had to put midfielder Matt Baxter between the posts until the 40th minute when Moody was able to take part in the action.

City began brightly and as well as protecting Baxter also created a couple of good chances themselves with Richard Ivers just failing to connect properly with a header and Kayne Trevaskis failing to hit the target from a fine cross by Matt Jose.

Having worked hard to prevent Culdrose from firing in any shots, a 25th minute lapse gave the servicemen the opening they were looking for when George Reed hit a 20-yard screamer that gave Baxter no chance.

Baxter pulled off several good saves as Culdrose began to dominate play and set up chances, but fortunately City weathered the storm to reach the break just one goal behind.

The second half saw the visitors enjoy the lion's share of play with Ivers again forcing a save from the 'keeper with a header, but overall City rarely looked like breaking their duck despite forcing a series of corners and free kicks.
