SIX teams of 12 anglers per team fished the popular Duchy League competition with Mounts Bay proving the eventual winners.

Taking part were Camborne AA, Carnhell Green SAC, Geevor SAC, Mawnan AC, Mounts Bay Angling Society and Redruth SAA.

Best four of each species from each team: 1, Mounts Bay AS, 6 different species, 11 fish, 760.637%; 2, Redruth SAA, 5 different species, 8 fish, 537.215%; 3, Camborne AA, 3 different species, 7 fish, 508.514%; 4, Carnhell Green, 1 different species, 4 fish, 211.458%. No fish were weighed from Geevor or Mawnan.

Species brought back to the scales over minimum weight were ballan wrasse, bass, golden grey mullet, thick lipped mullet, thin lipped mullet, pollack, mackerel, pouting and scad.

The next major competition takes place this Saturday and Sunday where as well as a £100 first prize there is also the CCA Open Bass Trophy up for grabs.

Prizes go down to fifth place and are kindly sponsored by Jon Rogers, the County Angler Ltd, Redruth.

You can sign on at County Angler, Camborne (12 noon-5 pm); West Cornwall Angling Centre, Penzance; Atlantic Angling Centre, Newquay; City Angling, Truro; Sandies Tackle, Redruth; Tackle Box, Falmouth; all between 4 and 4.30 pm. The weigh-in will take place at St Michael's Mount, Barripper, near Camborne, Sunday, 7-7.30 pm. Entry fee is £5 and juniors £2.50.
