HAYLE drew their final match of the season with Camborne in a match halted early through bad light at the Towans.

However, Camborne achieved what they set out to do by gaining the two points they need to clinch the County One championship.

They, along with Helston, who finished ahead of Hayle, will be promoted to the Premier Division.

Hayle lost two early wickets, but recovered with a third wicket stand of 93 from Martin Jenkin and Paul Lello. Stalwart Lello got his runs in 101 minutes and hit seven fours.

Berryman and Curnow took three wickets each with Pooley taking two.

Jenkin was in for 106 minutes, for his knock and other scores from Weeks 20 and Harris 24 took the score to 184.

Camborne after 38 overs reached 147-6 with Kevin Roberts, having hit five fours, bowled by Wayne Jenkin for 51.

Pooley 26, Mitchell 20, and Nigel Hambly not out 29, were the top scorers before bad light halted play with just five overs remaining and Camborne needing 38 runs to win.

On Saturday Camborne beat Launceston by 8 wkts at Roskear.

Launceston decided to bat and made 173-5 with Josh Parson top scoring with 64. 'Cambornes four bowlers shared the wickets.

Kevin Roberts was out for 20 and Malcolm Pooley made 15, but Ian Goldsworthy hit 75 (ten fours) and Tim Edwards 44 (six fours) as Camborne passed the target for the lost of two wickets.
