THE family of a Bridgwater man who dies after he was assaulted in the street have this week paid tribute to the "loving husband, father and grandfather" they have lost.
William Bird died on Sunday, a day after he suffered a fractured skull in an altercation with two men as he walked home with friends from a rugby match.
The whole town has been shocked and saddened by Mr Bird's death, and a number of floral tributes have been laid at the bridge on Bath Road where he received fatal injuries.
