A Yeovil Town Squad X1 was held to a 0-0 draw by Plymouth Argyle Reserves on Tuesday night at Huish Park in the Pontins Holiday Combination League.

Yeovil started with a young back four of Stephen Reed, Paul Jones, Sam Croft and Dale Williams, but it was young Danny Barker who earned all the plaudits with an outstanding display in goal.

Barker had to come in for the injured Steve Collis and made about eight cracking saves during the game.

In a nip-and-tuck first half neither side was able to get on top for long periods as both new Plymouth boss Bobby Williamson and his predecessor Paul Sturrock looked on from the stands.

After half an hour Yeovil were awarded a penalty when Kezie Ibe was brought down but Adrian Caceres' weak shot to the left was saved by the Argyle keeper.

Latvian international Andrejs Stolcers started the match and his intelligent running set up chances, but unfortunately Yeovil could not capitalise on his good work.

The tempo was upped in the second half as both sides tried to get the points but with Barker in such form it was going to take something really special to get past him. A 0-0 stalemate was a fair result giving Yeovil their first point of the season in the Pontins League.

Yeovil Town X1: Danny Barker; Stephen Reed; Paul Jones; Sam Croft; Dale Williams; Nicolas Mirza; Yemi Odubade; Adrian Caceres; Kezie Ibe; Andrejs Stolcers.
