THE number of Devon County Councillors is set to rise next year to improve local democratic representation for the public in Devon it has been announced this week.
On Tuesday, councillors the Executive Committee meeting heard confirmation from the County Solicitor that the Electoral Commission has now given the goahead for the recommendations published in a review in August 2000.
Growth in population means Devon County Councillors in some areas are currently representing up to 17,000 people.
