A 12-year-old rider is getting ready to train with a professional as he celebrates a successful youth motocross championship campaign.

Harry Woodland, a student at Holyrood Academy, has worked extremely hard to achieve the second position in the 2021BSMA MX Youth Championship (British Schoolboys Motocross Association) and has taken the championship in his class for the 2021 South West Motocross Championship.

CELEBRATING: Harry, 12, is celebrating a successful motocross championship
Harry has been riding since the age of six, and has had his fair share of injuries, but he has fought back to full fitness and has already achieved important results in his short racing career.

Richard Woodland, Harry’s dad, who is a former racer, said the whole family is “very pleased” with the results. He also said: “He trains really hard, especially on his fitness and we go up north to train on deep sand.

“He started when he was two and a half. He had to take a special licence to start riding, he did a test, passed it, then at six and a half he injured his elbow badly and started again when he was eight and a half.

Mr Woodland said: “He is really looking forward to it, Alex really took him under his wing, and they really get along well.”

Harry’s family would like to thank Holyrood Academy for all of their continued support along with Harry’s sponsors, Woodlands Autos, Western Fuel, Moto33, Gibbs Performance, and Envy Wheels.
