CHARD Town manager Jamie Manley and his assistant Kevin Leigh have left the club after just one season in charge following the decision to relegate Chard to step 7 of the FA pyramid..
Manley said that the pair had a cracking season with Chard, which was most enjoyable.
When they took the job in the close season last year it was because they wanted to manage again in the Western League, following a short break after five seasons with Sherborne Town.
They would not want to manage at any club lower than the Western League -
, meaning they are likely to line up in the Somerset County League next season.
Manley said: "We feel really sorry for the people behind the scenes at Chard, who have carried out so much hard work in trying to find a new ground, their commitment and passion is second to none".
Chard have already advertised for a new first team manager with a closing date of Tuesday, June 7 (7pm).
To enquire or apply for the position, please contact club chairman Lyndsey Gage via email on chardtownfcchairman@outlook.com or by phone on 07854372712.
Chard chairman Lyndsey Gage thanked both Manley and Leigh for their service and understood their reasons for not wanting to drop down a further level.
