ILMINSTER Town will host Chard Town in the second round of the Somerset County League Cup on November 9 (ko 2.30pm).
It will be the first competitive meeting between the sides since Easter Monday 1982, when Chard won 1-0 thanks to a goal by Mark Parris - who is now managing the Robins.
Before that big match, tomorrow sees Chard entertain newly-promoted Mendip Broadwalk in the Somerset County League Premier Division (ko 3pm).
Looking forward the game, manager Parris has revealed the ‘excellent news’ that two senior players, Andy Holmes and James Boyland, have indicated that they will be staying with Chard.
It is also likely that two former players will be returning to the club and, with no reserve game this week the manager will have more options in terms of numbers.
Tom Stephens-Fouracre came through 15 minutes on Saturday after five weeks out with a foot injury.
Ryan Mason is suspended but Josh Lukins, who missed the Somerton game, is back.
As for Ilminster, they are also at home tomorrow, when current Premier Division champions Chilcompton are the visitors to the Archie Gooch Pavilion (3pm).
County League Division 3 side Combe St Nicholas are away to Draycott tomorrow.
