TAUNTON Ladies played visiting side Andover on Sunday at Veritas Park and the ladies on both sides acquitted themselves well in what was a very exciting match.

Both development teams started strong but it was Taunton who scored first with a hard fought try on the wing by Harriet Day.

A second try soon followed with Hannah Wareham making a breakthrough Andovers strong defence to touch it down between the posts, this led to a nice easy conversion for Britt Fassam.

The start of the second half saw Andover come back fighting with two swift tries in succession leaving the score 12-10 to Taunton.

The Taunton ladies suddenly jumped into action not happy to settle for Andover so close and upped their game.

However, Andover were not letting them have it easy their defence made it hard going but Britt Fassam and Corrine Johnson crashed across the line for another 2 tries. The final try was converted by Corrine Johnson putting the Taunton side in the lead.

With light fading because of the fog the final score was settled at 24-10 to the Taunton side.
