Counties 2 Tribute Somerset: Taunton Warriors 38-17 Avon

IN their final game of the season, the Taunton Warriors had to work hard but they were able to win at home over Avon.

The Warriors have won the Counties 2 Tribute Somerset division and will be promoted to a higher level next season.

This final win gave the Warriors 105 league points for the season having won 21 games and lost just one.

Whilst the team of players deserve a lot of credit, so do the coaches John Wrelton and Brett Harvey as they have taken a group of eighteen years old Colts and developed them into senior men’s rugby players.

That, mixed with the support of some of the more mature players, the Warriors won the league and promotion in just two seasons.

A spokesperson from the club said: "Thanks must go to a very dedicated group of supporters who have gone to both home and away games to show a presence for not only the team but also the club.

"Next season will bring challenges of a higher level of rugby and a little more travelling and we all look forward to supporting our Warriors in their next campaign."
