IT is not often you see a referee get a rousing round of applause as he leaves the pitch at the end of the game – but it happened to Jarnail Singh at Huish Park on Saturday.

Mr Singh has officiated many Yeovil Town games down the years, stretching back to the Conference days.

And Mr Singh was there in the middle for the Glovers’ 3-0 victory over Oldham Athletic – a match which was to be his last in the Football League.

Once again Mr Singh put in a good performance with the whistle and showed that the common sense to refereeing is always the right one.
